FAQ - Partner Payments

Quick answers to the most common Partner Payments questions.

Partners

What is a partner?
Anyone your company pays — a supplier, contractor, landlord, or service provider. Save them once and pay them again anytime.

What's the difference between Partners and Beneficiaries?
Beneficiaries is the existing saved-payee feature — it stores a name and IBAN for basic transfers. Partners adds verified payment details, full contact information, multiple payment methods per partner, linked payment history, and profile completeness tracking. You can migrate existing beneficiaries to partners.

Can a partner have more than one bank account?
Yes. A partner can have several payment methods (local, international, SiFi), and you choose which to use each time you pay. See Managing beneficiaries & IBANs.

Can I add a partner without knowing their bank details?
Yes. Only the partner name is required. Add payment methods later when you have their bank details ready. See How to add a partner.

Can I organize partners into groups or categories?
Grouping is not currently available. Use consistent, clear partner names and a distinct aliases field to tag partners with labels (e.g., "Monthly vendor," "One-time") and search by these names or aliases to find them quickly.

I have two entries for the same partner. Can I merge them?
Merging is not currently available. Keep the partner with the most complete profile and payment history, then delete the duplicate. See Avoiding duplicate partners.

Payments

What are the ways to pay?
Internal (SiFi → SiFi), local (Saudi bank account), SWIFT (international), or straight from an invoice.

How fast do payments arrive?

Transfer typeAmount
Speed
Internal (SiFi)Any amountInstant
Local IBANUp to SAR 20,000Instant
Local IBANAbove SAR 20,000Next working day (T+1) via SARIE
SWIFTAny amount1–3 business days

For local transfers, payments made outside of business hours or on weekends and public holidays may be processed on the next business day, regardless of amount.

My local transfer was not instant. Why?
Two common reasons:

  • The amount is above SAR 20,000. Transfers above this threshold are processed via SARIE and settle on the next working day (T+1).
  • You sent it outside business hours. Transfers made on weekends, public holidays, or after banking hours may be processed on the next business day.

How much do payments cost?
Internal (SiFi) transfers are free. For local and SWIFT, any fee is shown before you send.

My beneficiary received less money than I sent. Why?
This happens with SWIFT transfers when fees are deducted along the route. If you selected SHA (shared) or BEN (beneficiary pays), the beneficiary's bank and intermediary banks may deduct fees. To ensure the beneficiary receives the exact amount, use the OUR fee option.

Can I pay in another currency?
Yes, for SWIFT payments — choose the currency when you send.

Can I cancel a transfer after sending it?
Once authorized and submitted, transfers cannot be cancelled from SiFi. Contact SiFi support immediately if you need to recall a payment.

Can I schedule transfers or set up recurring payments?
Neither is currently available. All transfers are processed immediately upon authorization and must be initiated manually each time.

Payment methods & verification

Why does my payment method show "Pending activation"?
SiFi checks the account information before activating. For local IBAN, verification is instant — if you still see "Pending activation," check the beneficiary name and IBAN are correct. For SWIFT, verification may take longer as international details are validated. See Verifying a payment method.

Why do I need to verify an account?
Verification confirms the account belongs to the right partner, protecting you from fraud and incorrect payments. It happens once per account.

Approvals & security

Why does my payment say "Pending approval"?
Your company requires approval for some payments. It sends automatically once an approver reviews it. See Approvals & payment policies.

Is Partner Payments available in Arabic?
Yes. SiFi supports both English and Arabic. You can switch the language from the top of the page.
